Si2 is pleased to announce that Professor Ioannis Savidis from Drexel University has been selected as a co-winner of the Si2 Q1 2026 Pinnacle Award, presented quarterly to volunteers who have made exceptional contributions to our success as a not-for-profit membership organization.
Ioannis is acknowledged for his significant contributions to the Si2 AI/ML Schema OpenStandards Working Group, bringing the Drexel EDA Schema framework as a foundation for building an Ontology for open, standardized EDA data to accelerate research and enable new automation, including using AI methods.
Ioannis and his team adopted and tuned the Si2 AI/ML Ontology, demonstrating use cases highly relevant to our industry members, including timing prediction, giving a path to industry adoption.
He also participated in the Si2 LLM Benchmarking Coalition working groups, bringing EDA-related LLM knowledge and experience to assist the efforts for trusted leaderboard and RTL benchmarking to those teams.
