Ivan Kissiov, a principal engineer with Siemens EDA, has been honored with the quarterly Silicon Integration Initiative Pinnacle Award, which recognizes volunteers for their professional contributions to Si2 programs.
Kissiov was acknowledged for his significant contributions to Si2, both as chair of the AI/ML Schema OpenStandards Work Group and as a member of the AI/ML EDA Special Interest Group. He brings over 30 years of experience in semiconductor EDA and software design, as well as expertise in large language model technology.
Robert Aslett, Si2 President and CEO, said Kissiov’s vision “has been to base the specification of the Schema system on an ontology describing design and EDA entities and processes and their relationships. He worked hard to create this ontology, then turned to building a system that leverages LLM and advanced software design principles to enable a high degree of flexibility.
“His efforts for the SIG included putting together a detailed description of the LLM landscape, describing and categorizing major contributors and the models and services they provide,” Aslett added. “This landscape input became important input for an LLM investigation presentation given to the Si2 BoD in October 2024.”
