Si2 hosts selected standards and solutions for free public download as part of our mission to offer standards, technology, and services to all interested organizations and individuals at a fair and reasonable cost. Each download requests user’s information to receive a download link.
Library Exchange Format and Design Exchange Format (LEF/DEF) are accepted standards for place and route design tools. They are developed by Cadence Design Systems and distributed by Si2. The latest released version of LEF/DEF along with its API Format Specification Reference Documentation is available for download.
CMC Standard Models are the gold standard device models for semiconductor circuit design. The documentation and Verilog-a source code can be downloaded from here. This source is used as the basis for models integrated into all commercial EDA simulators, and is available to anyone in research or industry. Si2 releases the latest production standard of each model.
CMC members have access to earlier beta releases of the models which they designate for funding which are not publicly available here.
This open-cell and FreePDK library aligns with the current generation of silicon process nodes and is based on the FreePDK process design kit from NC State University. This PDK does not contain proprietary or sensitive data that would prohibit free sharing of a library built with it. The new Silvaco cell library is free for all non-commercial purposes and is particularly suited to research programs and standards development organizations that have previously had free access only to libraries with much older process technologies.
Member companies have contributed solutions, libraries, and utilities which complement the offerings of Si2 standards, including OpenAccess (OA). These are provided under the indicated open source licenses. Being a member of the OpenAccess Coalition is required for use of OA and gives you access to many production coalition-specific extensions which are not publicly available here. Join OA
Selected Si2 OpenStandards are publicly released by Si2 Working Groups, capturing their collaborative work. These standards can be downloaded to learn about industry work in these areas or to use as the basis for future innovation. Si2 OpenStandards may be from groups which are active or archived from past groups. By joining Si2, your company can participate in defining new standards which are not publicly available here and have the early opportunity to innovate on those standards. Join Si2Base
Industry and academic members of Si2 SIGs and OWGs publish joint white papers and conference papers to summarize their position on a specific technical area to get consensus and wider feedback from the larger semiconductor community. These Si2 member publications are available for download either from si2.org or as a link from ArXive.
